[. . . ] D-112E 2-WAY, BASS REFLEX SPEAKERS Capable Speakers that Make a World of Difference to Home Audio Following in the footsteps of Onkyo's series of bass reflex speakers--praised by the media throughout the E. U. and promoted in Japan as being designed for European sensibilities--the D-112E 2-way, bass reflex speakers are poised to contribute to this impressive legacy. Even though these speakers stand no taller than bookshelf speakers, don't be deceived. [. . . ] Then, with the tweeter's equalizer, it is possible to get a flat frequency response out to 100 kHz. The whole tweeter unit works to prevent any necessary vibration and to completely remove any noise. (Steady Ground Level) To contribute to the quality of this highly effective unit, we have focused heavily on our S. G. L. With a ground potential that is free of any fluctuations, it is possible to generate high-quality audio playback. Furthermore, we use a high-quality, German-made WIMA film capacitor that contributes to overall sound quality. We have also incorporated gold-plated, banana plug-compatible speaker posts that are capable of firmly securing topquality cables. All parts serve to get the most direct signal input transmission from component to speakers. Aero Acoustic Drive to Cut Off High Frequency Interference Poorly designed bass reflex speakers will be affected by membrane overshoot and poor transient response behavior. With any vented design, the size and placement of the duct is crucial in ensuring that the woofer's rear-firing and front-firing waves are both in phase. Through its own research of different duct shapes, Onkyo has developed a long, narrow duct--called the Aero Acoustic Drive--that has been proven to be more effective than a circular duct in separating low and high frequency sounds. The bottom duct is separated from the cabinet to further reduce cabinet vibrations. The end result is a more natural, precise sound output. Solid, Stylish Cabinet with Resonance and Balanced Control Top-line speakers should not be simply evaluated on power. We should also pay special attention to the materials used in the speaker construction to give resonance and balanced control. Furthermore, the speakers include small but purposeful design improvements, like a rounded MDF baffle that prevents the diffraction of sounds within the cabinet. With minor adjustments, it has been possible to remove even the most minute elements of noise, which all add up to give this speaker a completeness in sound. The speaker is finished in matt black, and it also has real wood panels on the side.
